Just came back from the meeting Mackenzie Thorpe - what a lovely & patient man - 5hours of non-stop autographs - literally! Will he have signitis as a result?
The exhibition has a combination of new paintings created to celebrate Captain James Cook landing in Australia and new paintings of Middlesbrough.
A must see for all Mackenzie Thorpe fans!!! and for people who don’t know his art.

The exhibition is at the Captain Cook Birth Place Museum, Middlesbrough, England.
Last week the weather forecast was going to be sunny (for a change) so I decided to cease the day and paint on location. I hadn’t been to Hardwick Hall Co. Durham in ages so I packed up my paints, easel, canvas etc. and toddled over. I unloaded and went to find a location packed like a donkey. As I reached the pond I saw a swan chasing a duck and chuckled at the scene, what I didn’t notice was the other swan came out of the pond… and headed straight towards me…. I took a quick photo (willing to die for art) and made a hasty retreat… I was no match for a swan protecting its signets…
Whilst scratching my head thinking ‘ok, now where?’ a woman approached and we chatted. She mentioned that there are chairs and easels spread across the park. ‘Eureka, that’s it, an artist using public art to create art’ I thought so I found one of the easels. It inappropriate to use the easel itself as it had a poem, but the location was great. Here I am mid painting -
Hi this is my new website. It’s full of my paintings. Have a look and let me know what you think.
Great news! I will have an exhibition in the Duchess Gallery which is in the heart of Kielder forst in Northumberland, England. What a setting! I’m looking forward to it :)
This is Dan. It was his first gig, he was amazing and it inspired me to paint my impression of his gig. I had’t painted anything like that before…
Welcome to my first blog…. I decided to join this exiting new world. Let me know what you think :-)
